Chelsea boss Graham Potter has confirmed that he has no idea how long Denis Zakaria will be out injured after the Fulham injury.
Chelsea boss Graham Potter has dropped comments on Denis Zakaria after the Juventus midfielder suffered a knock during the game against Fulham on Thursday night.
Zakaria was forced to leave the pitch shortly after Koulidou Koulibaly’s equaliser in the second half against Fulham and was replaced by Jorginho.
The Juve midfielder, who is at Stamford Bridge on loan until the end of the season, has been impressive for the Blues in recent games, although the results aren’t there to show for it due to his team-mates questionable performances.
He’s now expected to join a long list of his injured team-mates and Potter confirmed that he doesn’t know how long the Switzerland international will sit on the sidelines with what looked like a muscle injury.
Speaking to the media after the Blues’ defeat at Craven Cottage, Potter said: “The only assessment is it’s at the top of the quad. He felt it when he cleared the ball. In terms of the extent, it’s too early to say.”
Zakaria, who is likely to undergo various scans to understand the extent of his injury, is more likely to miss Chelsea’s game against Crystal Palace and Liverpool next week at least.
Chelsea have endured a string of poor performances and recently included the 2-1 defeat at Fulham on Thursday night on the eyesore list.
