Former second-ranked player Goran Ivanisevic, 2001 Wimbledon champion and coach of 21-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic, said that Djokovic and Australia’s Nick Kyrgios are the world’s best field players. Recall that Djokovic defeated Kyrgiosin the Wimbledon final.
“He deserved to win Wimbledon. Two of the world’s best players on grass, him and Kyrgios, came together in the final.
Novak has already achieved everything, but he is still hungry for success. It’s been a tough year for him, unfairly. A lot of bad things happened to him,” Tennis World USA quoted Ivanisevic as saying.
Djokovic, who is unwilling to vaccinate, was scandalously banned from Australia in January, failing to play in the Australian Open. He may also miss the US Open, to be held from August 29 to September 11.
