Arsenal Football Club has confirmed via its official Twitter account that Reiss Nelson has returned to training following a spell on the sidelines due to injury. The young winger had been showcasing his potential during mid-season friendlies before a hamstring injury forced him to sit out.

Gunners head coach, Mikel Arteta, provided a cautious update on Nelson’s return, acknowledging the uncertainty surrounding his comeback timeline. This was a setback for Arsenal, as Nelson had begun to demonstrate his potential in recent months, and was poised to make an impact following the World Cup.

However, fans will be pleased to see that the winger is now back on the training ground at London Colney. A photo posted by the club shows Nelson training alongside Eddie Nketiah, indicating he is once again working with the squad.

Breaking into the first team will be a challenge for Nelson, as Arsenal boasts an impressive depth in its attacking ranks, including the recent acquisition of Leandro Trossard. Despite this, Nelson has previously shown that he can compete at the highest level and will no doubt be eager to make an impact in the upcoming months.

It should be noted that Nelson is still a work in progress, and there have been moments where his long-term future with the club has been in question.

However, his strong performances during the friendlies suggest he is ready and raring to go.
