Ghana sacked their head coach Chris Hughton following their early Africa Cup of Nations 2023 exit on Tuesday.

The Black Stars failed to qualify for the AFCON 2023 round of 16 after finishing third in Group B having played two draws and suffering a defeat in the opening game against Cape Verde, Egypt and Mozambique were also in Group B.

Ghana were hoping for Herve Renard to become the new manager, however, the coach has reportedly reached an agreement with Egypt.

According to reports, Renard is close to joining the Pharaohs, however, he will assume the role after the 2024 Olympic Games.
