George Russell has taken to Twitter to send a message to England following their World Cup quarter-finals defeat against France

England suffered a 2-1 defeat to France in the World Cup 2022 quarter-finals on Saturday and were eliminated from the tournament.

The current World Cup champions reached the semi-finals where they will face Morocco, who knocked Portugal out of the competition and reached the semi-finals.

Russell shared a post on Twitter reacting to the defeat as he wrote: “You did us proud lads. Your time will come.”
