Gareth Southgate has provided a fitness update on Bukayo Saka following England’s game against Malta.
The Three Lions celebrated an impressive 4 – 0 win over the opponents in the Euro 2024 qualifiers on Friday evening.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Harry Kane, and Callum Wilson scored the winning goals to give their side the lead over the opponents.
While helping England score their initial goal, Saka picked a minor issue with his ankle and had to be taken off the field. After the match, Southgate met the media and provided an update on the Arsenal star’s state saying:
“He’s good. We just didn’t want to take a chance with him given the scoreline.”
England are scheduled to play against North Macedonia as part of their ongoing qualification campaign for Euro 2024 on Monday.
