Frank Lampard was prevented from saying goodbye to Chelsea players.

According to The Athletic, the morning before January 25, the specialist was called and summoned to a meeting at  Stamford Bridge.  There, the director of the club, Marina Granovskaya, and the president, Bruce Buck, notified him of their resignation and explained this decision. Lampard shared his opinion on the situation, after which he left the arena.

At the same time, the Englishman was not allowed to say goodbye to the players.  Lampard’s dismissal was announced to them by his former team-mate and now the club’s technical advisor, Petr Cech, in a short announcement before morning practice.

Lampard has led Chelsea since the summer of 2019.  The team is currently ranked 9th  in the Premier League standings with 29 points in 19 rounds.  The Blues are 5 points away from the Champions League zone.
