After Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat against Brighton in the Premier League fixture, Frank Lampard praised Conor Gallagher and Kepa Arrizabalaga for their efforts.
Chelsea’s defeat at the hands of Brighton in their Premier League fixture on Saturday was met with disappointment by the Blues’ faithful at Stamford Bridge. Despite the loss, manager Frank Lampard had some positive words for a couple of his players who put in admirable performances on the pitch.
Conor Gallagher, who had been recalled to the starting line-up, scored his second goal of the season with a deflected effort, drawing praise from Lampard for his individual efforts. The manager also singled out goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga for his fantastic performance, despite the result.
Speaking to BBC MOTD after the game, Lampard said, “Kepa was fantastic. Conor Gallagher was another who gave every drop individually. But collectively, as a group, we have to accept it. We have to accept what needs to be done to play for this club and try to win games.”
While the defeat was a setback for Chelsea, the team will have to quickly turn their attention to their upcoming match against Real Madrid, where they will aim to overturn the deficit and secure a spot in the Champions League final.
