Keith Gillespie was dubbed the new George Best when he broke into Manchester United’s first team at age 18. But his autobiography, How Not to be a Football Millionaire, revealed how the former Blackburn Rovers’ and Northern Ireland winger saw his gambling spiral out of control, leading him to lose an astonishing £7million. Now he wants to make a personal appearance in the county to reveal how he is fighting back in life after losing most of his career earnings due to his gambling addiction.

“I’ve blown more than £7million – which is obviously a huge amount – but you might as well look back on it with fondness because I’ve lived out my dream of playing professional football,” said Gillespie. “Things have happened to me in my life, the bad stuff has made me a stronger person because I’ve been able to deal with it.”
