Folarin Balogun, on loan at Reims, will speak to Mikel Arteta at the end of the season to come to an agreement about his future at Arsenal.
Arsenal’s promising young forward, Folarin Balogun, has revealed that he intends to hold talks with the club’s manager, Mikel Arteta, at the end of the season to discuss his future at the Emirates. The 21-year-old has been on loan at Ligue 1 side, Reims, this season where he has been in fine form, scoring 17 goals in the league thus far – an impressive feat that has not gone unnoticed by Arteta.
Balogun, who signed a four-year contract with the Gunners last year, has previously been linked with a move away from the club, but it appears that he is keen to hear Arteta’s plans for him going forward.
“It’s really positive that he could say these things and I mean I’m sure we’ll speak at the end of the season and we’ll have a lot of things to discuss,” Balogun told SkySports.
“But it’s nice that he’s watching and paying attention to what’s going on, and yeah it’s good. There’s discussions that need to take place and it’s not a decision that will only be with me. The club will let me know their point of view and I’m sure we’ll come to an agreement.”
With Balogun showing such potential during his loan spell, it will be interesting to see whether Arteta sees him as a key part of his plans for the future.
Fans will no doubt be hoping that the two parties can come to a mutually beneficial agreement that will allow the youngster to continue to develop and thrive at the club.
