Tony Godsick, the agent of 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer, has assessed his client’s chances of playing at Wimbledon 2022. The tournament will be held from June 27 to July 10.

According to Godsick, Federer, who has not played since Wimbledon 2021, will almost certainly not play at the tournament. Earlier, Roger had officially announced that he would play the Laver Cup in September and the Basel tournament in October.

“Roger is going to play the Laver Cup and the Swiss Indoors. Can he play before that? Maybe yes, but it’s more likely after that. He doesn’t want to take on anything too soon. He’ll take his time this time,” the Evening Standard quoted him as saying.

“I think he would like to play Wimbledon again. It’s always been a special place for him,” he added.

That said, Godsick didn’t rule out Federer making an appearance at Wimbledon 2023.
