Manchester United’s interest in signing Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount during the summer transfer window continues.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils have made contact with the English international to express their intention of pursuing him.
However, Chelsea have set a price tag of €80 million for the 24-year-old, a fee that United and other Premier League rivals are currently unwilling to meet.
While there hasn’t been any progress in the deal in the past week, the Red Devils remain keen on acquiring Mount’s services.
It is believed that negotiating personal terms with the player will not be an issue, as the midfielder reportedly desires a move to Old Trafford.
Whether United can convince Chelsea to lower their asking price in the coming weeks remains uncertain, especially considering Mount is in the final year of his contract.
