Fabrizio Romano has provided a fresh update on Manchester City’s pursuit of Mateo Kovacic.
The Croatia international has been recently linked with the move to Etihad, with the Blues being eager to part ways with a number of players for the squad overhaul.
According to Romano, City and Chelsea are currently engaged in direct negotiations for Kovacic’s transfer. While the deal is not yet finalized, there is an expectation that it will happen.
Personal terms between Kovacic and Pep Guardiola’s side have already been agreed upon about 10 days ago.
All parties involved are aligned in their desire for a complete agreement, which is anticipated to be reached in the near future, the sports journalist has added.
