Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Edu Gaspar’s future at Arsenal amid exit talks.
Eight years later after his retirement from football, former Gunners’ man returned to the Emirates Stadium as part of the management team. He was appointed as the club’s technical director back in the summer of 2019.
Since his reunion with Arsenal, Edu has played a key role in the club’s transfer policy. He helped the team to secure the transfers of a number of football stars like Martin Odegaard, Ben White, Aaron Ramsdale, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabrio Vieira and Gabriel Jesus.
Edu’s professional work has been attractive, linking him with the move away from the Emirates Stadium recently. However, despite the talks, Fabrizio Romano claims the Brazilian is focused on his job at the London side.
“What I’m told, he’s 100 per cent focused on the Arsenal project. He’s working actively on signings for the future, contract situations, so Edu is focused on Arsenal. It’s on [other] clubs’ side that they’re exploring the possibility,” the journalist said.
