In a significant setback for Chelsea, emerging talent Carney Chukwuemeka is poised to endure an extended period on the sidelines, amounting to a six-week absence due to injury.

The  19-year-old youngster, who notably found the net for Chelsea during their recent 3-1 defeat against West Ham, has long been touted as a burgeoning force within the footballing sphere.

However, Chukwuemeka’s trajectory has been abruptly disrupted by the latest turn of events. According to  Fabrizio Romano, the English youth international sustained an injury during the clash at the London Stadium this past Sunday, subsequently compelling him to a prolonged spell of recovery and rehabilitation.

While Chelsea’s midfield contingent is equipped with a depth of options, including the favored duo of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, who are poised to feature prominently under the stewardship of Mauricio Pochettino, the prospect of integrating Brazilian prodigy Andrey Santos into the fold also looms as a viable alternative.
