Italian Transfer Expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Chelsea has completed the signing of highly rated Ecuadorian wonderkid Kendry Paez.
Chelsea have secured a major coup in the transfer market by landing 15-year-old midfield prodigy Kendry Paez from Independiente del Valle, beating off competition from several other top European clubs.
According to renowned Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano , the deal has been finalised and is set to cost the Blues around £20 million, with additional fees contingent on the youngster’s performance until he reaches the age of 18.
Despite agreeing to terms with Chelsea, Paez will be unable to join the club until he comes of age in May 2025, as stipulated by FIFA regulations. The acquisition is also dependent on the teenage sensation obtaining a work permit.
The Ecuador Under-17 international recently made history by becoming the youngest player ever to feature in the Ecuadorian Serie A, scoring a goal on his debut for Independiente del Valle.
Chelsea’s astute investment in Paez has been widely lauded as a shrewd move by the club’s hierarchy, given the player’s remarkable potential and impressive track record thus far in his nascent career.
It remains to be seen how the youngster will develop in the coming years, but the Blues faithful will undoubtedly be eagerly anticipating his eventual arrival at Stamford Bridge.
