The English man was not in the starting line up as a result of internal disciplinary measure against him. But had to come off the bench at the start of the Second half, with the game at a goalless draw.

Marcus found the back of the net at the 76th minute of the game to put Manchester United in front, a fine one-two display with Bruno Fernandes led to the goal.

Speaking to BT Sports at the end of the game, Rashford made it clear that discipline is a core value to growth, and at that, should be imbibed by all firm.

The 25 year old admitted to have overslept, which made him a bit late for a meeting, which is against the team rules, he admitted being disappointed by his mistake, but took his punishment in good fate, went on to correct the said mistake be giving his beat when he was introduced, to have found the back of the net.

Ronaldo in his final week as a Red, had an arrogant interview with Piers Morgan, where he made mention of having no regards for his manager Erik ten Hag, as he claimed ten Hag has none for him.

Ten Hag believes in discipline, and melts out such when necessary, dropping Rashford from the starting line up, showed that. He was happy with Marcus’ response to his punishment.

When asked about his say on Ronaldo’s transfer, Ten Hag mentioned Ronaldo to be a past, and said he was focused on the job at hand, and would not like to discuss matters of the past.
