Erik ten Hag has spoken out on Harry Maguire after England’s World Cup elimination as Manchester United prepare for club football return.
Maguire was part of Gareth Southgate’s team in the World Cup 2022 that reached the quarter-finals and suffered a defeat to France.
England were eliminated from the tournament after a 2-1 defeat to current World Cup champions.
Manchester United defender made 5 appearances in the tournament and provided one assist.
“Harry Maguire will have his chance. It’s clear he is good enough to play at highest level,” ten Hag told BBC Sport’s Simon Stone.
“We want Harry to bring same energy as with England on the pitch for Man Utd. If he does that, he will be a great player for us”.
United return to action on December 21 with a game against Burnley in EFL Cup round of 16.
So far this season, Maguire has made just 9 appearances for United having suffered an injury during the season.
