Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has conceded that his side needs to have a ‘winning attitude’ if they fancy beating Manchester City this weekend.

Man United will host Man City at Old Trafford this Saturday, knowing that a win over their city rivals will become their 10th home win on a bounce.

United lost the reverse fixture 6-3 at the Etihad Stadium but will look to avoid the mistake they made, hence Ten Hag demanding a winning attitude from his overwhelming squad.

“I think we can compete with every team,” Ten Hag told talkSPORT. “Obviously, when Man City are at their best, it’s a hard opponent for everyone. But we have to play our best, then we have a chance. If we don’t, like at City, we don’t have a chance.

“It’s up to us to have a good team, the right co-operation, the right attitude. We need a winning attitude on Saturday.”

As stated earlier, Manchester United have a chance to record their 10th win in a row at Old Trafford this weekend against Manchester City.

And it’s obvious that the former Ajax manager is gradually turning the Theatre of Dreams into the fortress they once was under Sir Alex Ferguson.

On the journey so far, the Dutch tactician said: “It’s by standards. By every day, living along high standards. It’s by the team, building a team. Nobody is bigger than the team, everybody has to contribute to the team.”
