Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has reacted to Pep Guardiola’s ‘ridiculous’ tactics comments against Man United.
Erik ten Hag has refused to be distracted by Pep Guardiola’s claim that he has ‘ridiculous’ tactics plan against Manchester United.
Man United will host Manchester City at Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime, knowing that a win over City would take them one point behind 2nd position and six points off 1st-placed Arsenal.
Ahead of Man City’s game against Southampton in the Carabao Cup, Pep Guardiola said he has different plans on facing Manchester United.
He said: “I would like to arrive against Man United with the average of minutes in the legs of the players quite similar because I have a few ideas, thoughts, ridiculous ones against United.”
And when Ten Hag was asked about the comments above, he said: “I don’t care about that, what he is thinking. You know, he did [tactical surprises] more often and we are prepared for that, if he does different things. We have our rules, our principles from football.”
The Dutchman also claimed that his side is looking forward to facing Manchester City because to win the best trophies, they have to play against the best.
“If you want to win trophies, you have to be able to compete with the best and City are the best,” Ten Hag added. “We are looking forward to challenging them.”
