Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag was happy with his side’s performance against Charlton Athletic on Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup.

Man United thrashed Charlton 3-0 at Old Trafford to move to the semi-final of the Carabao Cup and will now face one of Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Wolves, Southampton and Manchester City in the next round.

Antony scored the opener but Marcus Rashford came off the bench and scored two late goals to seal what was expected to be an easy game for the Reds.

Ten Hag said of United’s performance: “Quite happy with it [the performance]. I think we started very well, it was good energy, good focus, we pinned them in their half, we created chances.”

On Antony’s opener, the Dutchman added: “It was a brilliant goal. It was a team goal, but the finishing from Antony dos Santos, it was great.”

Speaking of Pellistri, Ten Hag said: “I see a future in him. You see he’s progressing. Against Everton [behind closed doors in training] I was happy with his performance, I was happy with him in the World Cup. Well done, better, keep going.”
