Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has provided an update on the injury status of some of the club’s key players ahead of the Carabao Cup final.

Speaking to reporters, the Dutch boss admitted that the chances of Anthony Martial, Scott McTominay and Antony returning to full fitness in time for the final “looks good.”

The Red Devils are set to take on Barcelona at the Camp Nou without a string of first-team players. Sabitzer and Martinez are both suspended, while van de Beek and Eriksen are long-term absentees due to injury.

Martial, who has been struggling with injuries throughout the season, is currently out with a hip injury, while McTominay’s injury remains unspecified. Antony, on the other hand, has missed the last two games with a leg complaint.

Despite the absence of several key players, United will be hoping to put up a strong performance against Barcelona and Leicester City in their upcoming fixtures. Ten Hag’s side will face Barcelona again next Thursday before taking on Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final on February 26th.

With the opportunity to end their six-year trophy drought, United will be relieved to hear that the injured trio are making progress towards full fitness. Speaking on their current situation, Ten Hag said, “They are on the way back. They are on the training ground individually. They are making progress.”

The return of Martial, McTominay and Antony would undoubtedly be a boost for the club, as they look to secure a major trophy for the first time since their 2017 Europa League triumph.

United fans will be eagerly awaiting their return to action and hoping that they can make a significant impact in the upcoming fixtures.
