Erik ten Hag has told Manchester United’s hierarchy that he’s happy to see Cristiano Ronaldo move on as he believes United can be stronger without the drama that comes along with him.

Ten Hag may have previously regularly said Ronaldo is part of his Man United team but after the Portuguese star’s comments in the interview with Piers Morgan, things have obviously changed.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner said he doesn’t respect Erik ten Hag because the former Ajax manager doesn’t respect him and also claimed that the Dutchman is one of those forcing him out of the club.

As a result, sources close to Manchester United have claimed that Ronaldo may have played his last game as a Man United player last two weekends against Aston Villa in the Premier League as Ten Hag is likely not to work with a player who doesn’t follow his instructions.

The Dutchman froze Ronaldo out of the team for three days after the 37-year-old stormed down the tunnel during the game against Tottenham last month.

And Ronaldo’s claims in the interview are viewed as bigger issues than his behaviour in London and according to The Athletic, Ten Hag has informed the club that he’s happy to see Cristiano Ronaldo move on.

The same report claims that the Dutchman believes Manchester United can be stronger without the distractions that come along with the Real Madrid legend.

Several Manchester United players also reportedly watched Cristiano Ronaldo’s interview with Piers Morgan whilst returning to Old Trafford after their win at Fulham on Sunday night.
