Late last year, sometime in November, at the peak of the World cup competition, the Glazer family, announced their wish to change ownership of the biggest football club in England after 17 years in charge.

The announcement attracted many suitors, some whom have proposed and submitted their bill, while some others are still speculating on becoming the next owners of the English dominating side.

Manchester United at the time has received bids from Jim Ratcliffe, USA, Saudi Arabia, all are tempting, but the Glazers are yet to decide on whom to go work with in a quest for the change of club ownership.

51 year old Elon Musk is ranked 2nd on the list of richest men in the world by the Forbes list, just last year, he bought social media platform Twitter for $44billion and also founded SpaceX.

Early this February, Musk took to his Twitter handle and posted “Also, I’m buying Manchester United [you’re] welcome.” It naturally attracted widespread attention on social media and beyond.

The post garnered 868,000-plus likes and more than 115,000 retweets. However, a few hours later the Pretoria-born billionaire poured cold water on would-be interest. When asked by a Tesla fan account if he was actually serious, Musk said: “No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams…”
