Erik ten Hag has refused to answer whether Manchester United are title contenders after Manchester United’s win over Manchester City.
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag declined the chance to comment on whether the Red Devils are title contenders after Manchester City win at Old Trafford.
Man United cut the deficits behind league leaders to six points with a big 2-1 win over Man City at the Theatre of Dreams on Saturday lunchtime.
The Red Devils are obviously one of the teams that could win the Premier League title this season, given they are only one point behind Man City, who are in 2nd position.
However, the season is still long and it’s understandable that Ten Hag decided against not commenting on whether his side can challenge for the title.
After the game, he was asked if United can mount a challenge on the title, Ten Hag told beINSPORTS: “Don’t do that, we are not even half way through the season. it’s only January. There is a lot to come, a lot of gaps in our game we have to work on.
“We can achieve something in this season I am convinced, but it’s still a long way to go to restore Manchester United. We approach it game by game.”
