PSG forward Neymar was hauled off injured in the second half during a World Cup game against Serbia.
Doctor Rodrigo Lasmar has issued an update on Neymar after the PSG forward left the pitch injured during a World Cup game against Serbia.
Neymar, who was one of the top performers on the pitch, suffered a setback late in the second half after a challenge from a Serbia player.
Replays showed that the PSG forward’s ankle suffered a knock during the challenge and the former Barcelona winger had to leave the pitch in pains.
The Selecao doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar said: “They will wait the first 24 hours, they are worried, but optimistic. They did not rule out the need for an image exam.
“Neymar was supported by the physiotherapist until the locker room.”
Manchester United forward Antony replaced Neymar as Brazil beat Serbia 2-0 to get off to a winning start in the 2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup.
