Arsenal defender Pablo Mari has finalized a permanent exit from the club, marking his transition to the Serie A side Monza.

The Spanish defender had initially joined the Italian club on a season-long loan deal at the start of the campaign.

As per the terms of the loan agreement, the deal was set to become permanent for a fee of €7 million (£5.9m) only if Monza managed to avoid relegation during their debut campaign in the top-flight league.

In an exciting turn of events, Monza ensured their stay in the top tier league over the weekend with a 2-0 victory over Spezia, thereby fulfilling the terms of the agreement.

Currently, they sit comfortably in the tenth position on the table, boasting an impressive run of form that includes triumphs over Inter Milan and Fiorentina.

Despite undergoing surgery and missing only four games, Pablo Mari has been a near ever-present for Monza since joining the club. Having made 22 appearances for the North London side, the 29-year-old bids farewell to Arsenal, looking forward to his future with Monza.

With his remarkable talent and consistent performance, he is poised to play a pivotal role in Monza’s upcoming campaigns, offering the club a robust and dependable defensive presence on the field.
