Crystal Palace is expected to set a significant price tag of £50 million for the coveted defender Marc Guehi, who has captured the attention of both Arsenal and Tottenham.

As the summer transfer window approaches, both Arsenal and Spurs have identified Guehi as a prime target to bolster their respective defensive lines. Eager to fortify their squads, these Premier League clubs view Guehi as a promising asset.

Crystal Palace, however, is determined to retain their highly-rated center-back and will utilize the £50 million benchmark set by the club’s previous transfer deal according to Standard Sport.

Back in 2019, they secured a substantial fee of that amount for the sale of Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United.

It’s worth noting that Guehi’s former club, Chelsea, has a vested interest in his future success. As part of the agreement when Guehi moved to Selhurst Park for £18 million in 2021, Chelsea is entitled to receive 20 percent of any subsequent transfer fee through a sell-on clause.

Tottenham, in particular, has a longstanding interest in Guehi, as they look to address their defensive shortcomings during the upcoming transfer window. With Clement Lenglet set to return to Barcelona following his loan spell and Davinson Sanchez’s future hanging in the balance, securing Guehi’s services could be pivotal for Spurs.

Meanwhile, Arsenal aims to bolster their center-back options after a lack of squad depth in that position exposed them during their title bid, especially following William Saliba’s injury setback.

Guehi’s exceptional performances throughout the season, coupled with his recent call-up to the England national team, have heightened interest in his signature. Furthermore, if Luka Milivojevic departs this summer, Guehi is expected to be in the running for the role of full-time captain at Crystal Palace next season.
