Ronaldo is still training with the U21 as instructed by the new manager at Old Trafford as a punishment for leaving the Stadium while a match was still on.
The former Real Madrid man supported United from his couch as he was banned by the boss from being in the team for the match day.
Despite expectations that ten Hag will include Ronaldo back into the team with the side set to battle Sheriff on Tuesday, the manager still needs an action from Ronaldo.
According to Mirror, the 52-year-old manager has asked to see remorse from Cristiano Ronaldo over his actions, before he can be allowed back to the first team.
Until ten Hag approves Ronaldo’s return to the first team, the Portuguese remains with the U21 although the manager has claimed Ronaldo is still in his plan for the 2022/2023 season.
