Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a message to Manchester United fans as he is set to leave Old Trafford.
Manchester United and the Portuguese star have now parted ways by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.
“The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future,” the club’s statement read.
Ronaldo had his own message after the breaking news as he wanted to say a sweet goodbye to the Red Devils’ fans.
“Following talks with Manchester United, we’ve mutually agreed to end our contract,” he said, via BBC Sport,
“I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never ever change. It feels like the right time to seek a new challenge. I wish Man Utd all the best.”
