Mason Mount has given his approval to Chelsea over a new contract extension, according to Evening Standard.
The England international is ready for a new deal that will make him one of the highest earners at Stamford Bridge.
After renewing Reece James, new owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital are urging to give Mount a long-term contract to secure his future in London.
Back in July 2022, the 23-year-old admitted that he is ‘happy’ at the club and remains excited about what the future hold for him with the Blues.
“It’s so exciting what the future holds. It’s an unknown but the way it’s started is really exciting to see what’s going to happen.
“So hopefully that continues. I’ve got two years left on my contract and I’m very, very happy here. Those talks will hopefully be starting soon.” Mount told to Standard Sport .
The midfielder currently has a two-year contract that runs out in 2024.
