In a potentially exciting development, Chelsea Football Club is reportedly finalizing a deal to bring Frank Lampard back to Stamford Bridge, this time as interim head coach until the end of the current season.

The 44-year-old was present during Chelsea’s recent goalless draw against Liverpool on Tuesday night, adding fuel to the speculation.

The proposed agreement would see Lampard take charge of the team immediately, while the club continues its exhaustive search for a permanent replacement. The news will no doubt delight fans of the club, who hold Lampard in high esteem for his outstanding contributions as a player during his thirteen-year stint with the Blues.

Lampard, who last managed Everton will be tasked with leading Chelsea through a challenging period, with the club still in the running for the Champions League.
