Chelsea Football Club has reportedly declined an offer from Manchester United for the highly talented midfielder, Mason Mount. The West London club remains steadfast in their valuation of the 24-year-old Englishman and is determined to secure a more substantial sum before considering his departure.

The bid submitted by Manchester United consisted of a guaranteed fee of £45 million, complemented by an additional £5 million in potential add-ons. Regrettably for the Red Devils, Chelsea promptly dismissed this proposal, underlining their unwavering stance in negotiations and clearly expressing their requirements to their Premier League rivals.

According to reputable sources at The Athletic , the Blues have communicated their desired price to Manchester United, quoting an asking price of £60 million plus £5 million in add-ons for the services of Mason Mount. The ball is now in United’s court, as the Old Trafford outfit deliberates whether to increase their offer in the coming days.

Throughout the buildup to the summer transfer window, Mason Mount has consistently been linked with a move to Manchester United. It is evident that manager Erik ten Hag views the talented midfielder as a priority target and is determined to bring him to the Red side of Manchester.

However, one must consider the contractual circumstances surrounding Mason Mount’s current deal with Chelsea. With just one year remaining on his contract, the proposed sum of £65 million may appear substantial, particularly given the possibility of acquiring the player on a free transfer in a year’s time.
