Reece James is out until after the World Cup and according to reports, the Blues have started considered landing Nelson Semedo as an alternative.
The Wolves full back is admired hugely by the ranks at Stamford Bridge who are reportedly considering recruiting him at the club.
It’s believed that Semedo’s potential arrival won’t only provide backup for Reece James but also would it bring competition and make the both players better.
Graham Potter in as much as he may try to ignore, Reece James’ injury will continue to be a big blow for his side despite the presence of 33-year-old Cesar Azpilicueta.
Since rising from the academy, James has continued to thrive at the top level, gaining so much interest from Real Madrid.
Blues potential-alternative Nelson Semedo will be interested in a trip to Chelsea but with his contract still valid until 2025, Blues could be looking to propose an offer of around 20m pounds for his services.
