After reaching agreement with the player, Chelsea have opened talks with French side, Olympic Lyon for the transfer of Right-back, Mason Gusto.

Todd Boehly’s Chelsea have set out for what could be the perfect transfer window. With Six players already joined Chelsea this month, summing it up to 19 since the Boehly takeover, Chelsea are set to land another player in Gusto.

Despite their incessant signings, Chelsea are yet to reinforce what many fans think is the actual need; the rightback position and the central defensive position.

Reece James has proven to be not only Chelsea’s best but one of the best RBs in the world right now, however, his injury has really left a hole in Chelsea with no reliable alternative to fill in the void.

Cesar Azpilicueta, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Trevor Chalobah are some of the players that have been tried in that position. The London side have now set out to land the perfect alternative for Reece James.

According to Fabrizio Romano, “Chelsea are in direct contact with OL for Malo Gusto. Understand personal terms are already agreed on long term deal, player open to the move.”

“OL have turned down Chelsea opening verbal bid, as Foot Mercato reported — they want Malo Gusto to stay at least until June” He added.

Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries is another name discussed for the position, but it is more likely Gusto will make a move in no time if Chelsea and Lyon arrive at an agreement.

The 19 years old French right-back is keen on making Chelsea move as soon as possible after he has reportedly agreed a long term personal deal with the club.
