Chelsea were not interested in pursuing a transfer for Wolves winger Pedro Neto in the summer, according to leading football journalist Fabrizio Romano.

In his Daily Briefing for Caught Offside , Romano states that while there was indeed interest from Arsenal, Neto’s situation currently appears quiet. Despite some speculation that Chelsea may have been interested in the Portugal international, it seems there is no truth to these claims.

Arsenal, on the other hand, were linked with Neto during the summer transfer window and could potentially revive their pursuit of the 22-year-old in the upcoming transfer market.

The Gunners recently acquired Leandro Trossard from Brighton to bolster their attacking options, but the lack of depth behind Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli remains a concern for manager Mikel Arteta.

As for Neto, his impressive performances at Wolves have undoubtedly caught the eye of several top-flight clubs, and he could emerge as a highly sought-after target next summer. While his situation is currently calm, the situation could change depending on a range of factors.

According to Romano, “Arsenal were interested in Pedro Neto last summer, but not Chelsea. At the moment the player’s situation is completely quiet, also in January nothing was serious or concrete for Pedro. We have to wait for the summer, it depends on a lot of factors, but it’s definitely quiet now.”

Arsenal’s search for another attacking player will continue, and it remains to be seen if Neto will emerge as a viable option.
