According to recent reports, several top European clubs have shown interest in Lyon’s young right-back, Malo Gusto.

The 19-year-old French U21 star has made a name for himself in Ligue 1, making 54 senior appearances for Lyon and contributing six assists and  with his contract set to expire in 2024, a move is likely on the horizon for the highly-rated defender.

Multiple sources have linked  Newcastle, Tottenham, and now reports coming out of Italy  are claiming  Chelsea are also interested in bringing Gusto to the Stamford Bridge.

. Italian outlet CM states that Barcelona, Juventus and Real Madrid are also in the mix for the £35m-rated star.

Gusto’s versatility and attacking intent make him a valuable asset to any club. He has proven himself as a regular in Lyon’s starting lineup, and will likely be seeking a move to a club where he can continue to play regularly at the highest level.

In England, Tottenham may be the best fit for Gusto. Antonio Conte is said to be looking for a new player in the right-back position and with Djed Spence yet to be trusted, Emerson Royal seen as a weak link, and Matt Doherty’s form being inconsistent due to injury, Gusto could be the perfect addition to the squad.

However, with several top clubs vying for his signature, Gusto has the luxury of choosing the best fit for his career. It will be interesting to see where the young star will end up, as he has the pick of Europe’s best teams.
