Premier League powerhouses Chelsea and Manchester City have thrown their hats into the ring to secure the highly sought-after Arsenal youngster, Ethan Nwaneri.

The gifted attacking midfielder etched his name in the annals of English football history as he became the youngest player ever to grace the Premier League. Aged just 15 years and 181 days, Nwaneri’s exceptional debut came in Arsenal’s commanding 3-0 triumph over Brentford last September, catapulting him into the spotlight as one of the nation’s most promising prospects.

With Nwaneri’s schoolboy registration set to expire on Friday, Arsenal find themselves racing against the clock to finalize scholarship terms with the prodigious talent. However, the London-based club faces stiff competition from Chelsea and Manchester City, two clubs renowned for their willingness to invest heavily in nurturing young talent.

Sources indicate that Arsenal has put forth a compelling offer to entice Nwaneri, who will be eligible to sign professional terms once he reaches the age of 17. Notably, the negotiations involve key figures such as academy manager Per Mertesacker, manager Mikel Arteta, and sporting director Edu, underlining the club’s commitment to securing the player’s long-term future.

Moreover, Arsenal’s hierarchy has taken proactive steps to outline a clear pathway for Nwaneri’s development, ensuring that his progression towards the first-team ranks remains unhindered.

The 16-year-old prodigy has already tasted senior action, making his debut last September, and has had the privilege of training with the first-team squad. Demonstrating their belief in his potential, Arsenal even included him in their mid-season training camp in Dubai last December, further highlighting his standing within the club.
