Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has claimed it would be ‘very nice’ if he return to Barcelona in the future.
Cucurella joined Barca’s academy at the age of 14 from Espanyol. After spending eight more years with the Catalans, the defender never made a senior team appearance, leading him to leave for Basque side Eibar.
With a decision to end his La Liga journey in 2021, the 24-year-old switched to Premier League, signing a five-year deal with Brighton.
However, the Barcelona graduate’s stay at the Falmer Stadium didn’t last long as the defender moved to Chelsea for a £63m transfer fee and six-year contract in the summer of 2022.
Speaking to Catalunya Radio quoted by Football London, the Spaniard admitted if a chance cones on his way to re-join Xavi’s side in the near future, he would definitely value it.
“I didn’t get the chance to really play for Barcelona and I’ve always been gutted about that.
“In the end, if I had the chance in future [to return to Barcelona], I would value it, it would be very nice.”
