The Ferrari driver has never finished a home race in five tries in Formula Two and Formula One.

“I’ve always not had much luck in Monaco, it’s true. On the other hand, I don’t believe it’s an unlucky circuit. I believe there is a balance in life, and all these failures will eventually become part of a beautiful story.

I hope I get lucky this year because every point counts. Wrecks are part of racing, they happen. In the car, I will not think about it, my approach will not change,” – said Leclerc.

Charles explained what he would prefer, a win at the Monaco Grand Prix or an F1 championship:

“I really love Monaco, but if I have to choose one thing, it would be the title. Although I don’t think I really have that choice (laughs). I’ll try to do both, firstly to win here and then the championship. That’s the kind of compromise I’d like to make”.

In the coming weekend in Monaco possible precipitation, but the pilot Scuderia does not worry:

“In recent seasons Ferrari has had more problems in the rain, but now the situation seems to have improved. In Imola, we saw that we can show speed in such conditions. So, to be honest, I don’t really care if it’s sunny or rainy.

Charles also commented on rumours of possible cancellation of the F1 race in Monte Carlo:

“I can’t imagine a calendar without the Monaco Grand Prix. I think Formula 1 has some legendary race tracks, and Monaco is certainly one of them. We must preserve the historic legacy of F1 and the Principality. I have often spoken out about it, and the decision-makers do not need to ask my opinion. I am all for preserving the Grand Prix. I am hardly the only one for whom it is a special race.

It is always so special to drive in the streets of the city I grew up in.
