Chelsea have agreed a deal to send Andrey Santos to Palmeiras on loan until December, Fabrizio Romano is reporting.
The wonderkid midfielder has not been able to get a work permit to join up with Graham Potter’s squad in January, and so he will return to Brazil (where he was thriving with Vasco de Gama) and play in the Copa Libertadores, adding further points to ensure his next application is successful.
That will cover the full Brazilian season – although Chelsea have a recall clause which will allow them to bring back the midfielder in June, midway through the season in Brazil and in the European summer window.
Endeavors by the Blues hierarchy to get Santos firing at Stamford Bridge have proved abortive despite initial protraction to contract.
Nevertheless, the teenage sensation is expected to further his development with the Brazilian side within this period before finally arriving Stamford Bridge to kick start his career with the Blues.
