Manchester United return to action next week but all attention is on the opening of the January transfer window next month.

The Red Devils are intent on replacing the departed Cristiano Ronaldo to aid their chances of making the top four this season, and recent reports have revealed that they have already held a ‘meeting’ with one potential target.

The Red Devils have been told what they must pay to sign Portuguese sensation Goncalo Ramos, who excelled at the World Cup.

Since netting a hat-trick in Portugal’s 6-1 rout of Switzerland in the last 16 of the 2022 World Cup, Benfica striker Ramos has attracted plenty of attention from clubs across Europe ahead of the January window.

United have been backed to sign him as a replacement for his comrade, Ronaldo, and following those reports, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has revealed what it will take for the Red Devils to capture the Benfica man.

Speaking on The United Stand YouTube channel, Romano confirmed that, although the Red Devils are not yet in contact with the striker or his representatives, it is likely that a bid of “more than €70m (£60m)” will be needed to sign the 21-year-old.
