In the midst of an eventful transfer window, Bayern Munich, the reigning Bundesliga champions, find themselves recalibrating their summer plans following the missed opportunity to secure their primary target, Declan Rice, according to reliable sources within the club.

Initially regarded as strong contenders to acquire the services of West Ham’s esteemed skipper, Bayern were left disheartened when it became increasingly apparent that Rice had his sights set on a move to Arsenal. Consequently, they gracefully conceded defeat in their pursuit of the talented midfielder.

However, the Bavarian giants have wasted no time in redirecting their attention to viable alternatives, with emerging reports suggesting that Randal Kolo Muani has piqued their interest. The 24-year-old striker, who has long been linked with a move to Manchester United, has now captured the attention of Bayern Munich, who are equally eager to bolster their attacking prowess with a top-quality number nine.

Muani’s valuation currently stands at an impressive £105 million, reflecting his invaluable contributions to Eintracht Frankfurt’s success. The gifted forward, whose contract was extended last summer, has expressed his desire to grace the Premier League with his skills, thus providing a glimmer of hope to Manchester United. However, Florian Plettenburg, a trusted source, has recently revealed that Bayern Munich have entered the race for Muani’s signature.

With the disappointment of missing out on Rice still fresh, securing a new number nine has become the primary objective for the German champions. Plettenburg has hinted that Muani is just one name among several on Bayern’s extensive list of summer targets, as they seek to fortify their squad for the upcoming season.

One enticing factor for the French striker could be the potential for a significant pay rise offered by Bayern Munich. Sources indicate that his current wages, believed to be below £1.3 million per year, are unlikely to be augmented by his current club, Frankfurt. This financial incentive, coupled with the allure of playing for one of Europe’s footballing powerhouses, might prove persuasive in Muani’s decision-making process.

Arriving from Nantes on a free transfer in 2022, Muani made an instant impact in the Bundesliga last season, showcasing his prowess by netting an impressive tally of 15 goals in 32 appearances. Furthermore, his creative instincts shone through, as he provided 14 assists, cementing his status as one of the league’s top contributors. Frankfurt’s seventh-place finish was largely indebted to Muani’s influence on the pitch.
