However, the reigning champions were unable to make the most of their opportunity and suffered a 1-0 loss, with Nacho Fernandez’s own goal in the 13th minute proving to be the difference. Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio had the chance to equalize from the penalty spot, but was unable to convert.
