Barcelona are not planning on selling Ansu Fati despite recent speculation.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed that Ansu Fati is not for sale because he’s part of Xavi Hernandez’s project.

Fati has not played as much as he would have liked this season so far, although his chances of impressing Xavi have been thwarted by injuries and lack of consistency.

Due to his lack of playing time, reports have claimed that the Spaniard could search for a new club in the summer and could move to the Premier League if his situation at Nou Camp isn’t solved this season.

The Spain international wouldn’t be short of options if he decided to quit Barca at the end of the season, with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea expected to be among his suitors.

However, his exit may not happen anytime soon as Joan Laporta said in an interview with Què T’hi Jugues that the youngster isn’t for sale.

“Ansu Fati is part of our present and future, so he’s not for sale,” Laporta said.

Fati came off the bench on Wednesday and scored a goal as Barcelona beat Intercity 4-3 in extra time in the Copa del Rey.
