The Catalans are not giving up on their quest to sign important players off Stamford Bridge after landing Andrea Christensen and Marcos Alonso during the summer transfer window.
Chelsea will now see strong interest from Barcelona for their captain, Cesar Azpilicueta with Barcelona now only signing aged players due to the low cost.
The La Liga side is in a financial crises and only managing to patch the squad with aged players, limiting their abilities to compete on a higher level but they have to keep on until they have left their financial problems.
Same reason they signed Marcos Alonso from Chelsea and now back for Cesar Azpilicueta who will likely be leaving this January despite Reece James injury.
Should James be back, Cesar is certain no game time for him anymore, which is one reason why he could consider the move to Barcelona.
Currently having a contract until 2024 with Chelsea, Barcelona will now have to pay around €20m for Azpilicueta after failing to sign him as a free agent last summer.
