It was indeed a night to forget for Karl Hein whose howler helped Brighton claim victory against Arsenal on Wednesday night.
The Seagulls produced a come-back victory to send Arsenal out of the Carabao Cup winning 3-1 in their third-round leg.
Despite Nketiah brilliantly beating Jason Steele early in the 20th minute, Gunners still managed to slump to a defeat on Wednesday night.
A howler from debutant goalkeeper, Karl saw the game turn around when he slipped in a contest with Danny Welbeck who then sent him the wrong direction from the 12-yard box.
Mikel Arteta despite the error from Karl has backed the Goalie and claims he would still put him on if he had to make the selection again.
“He deserved a chance,” said the Arsenal boss. “He is the first-choice goalkeeper of his national team and that is unusual [for his age]. If I had to pick the team again tomorrow I would play him again, because you need the experience of playing matches. Errors are a part of the game, it’s about how you react to the error.”
