Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has given an update on the fitness of midfielder Thomas ahead of the Gunners’ upcoming match against Everton.
The Ghanaian international was substituted at half-time in Arsenal’s last outing against Manchester City due to a rib injury.
In his pre-match press conference, Arteta revealed that the injury is not long-term but the player’s availability for the match against Everton remains in doubt. The manager stated: “Thomas is not ruled out, but it’s still a doubt. We’ll see today how he comes in and if he’s able to train with the team. We’ll make a decision on that.”
Emile Smith Rowe, however, has been ruled out for this match. The Gunners head to Goodison Park in search of their first win on Merseyside since 2017, facing an Everton side hoping to see a positive impact from the arrival of new manager Sean Dyche. Dyche was appointed earlier this week, taking over for Frank Lampard with the Toffees currently sitting in 19th place in the league table
