Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has been awarded March’s Castrol Save of the Month for his sensational stop to deny Dango Ouattara during their match against AFC Bournemouth.

The save was a game-changer, as it prevented the Gunners from going 2-0 down after just 21 minutes of play. Ramsdale, who won his first Premier League monthly award, revealed that the save was a result of the hard work put in with the goalkeeping coaches on one v ones.

Speaking to Arsenal Official Website He said “On his save, Ramsdale told Arsenal’s official website: “We do quite a lot of work with our goalkeeping coaches doing spreads and one v ones. The ball came across the box and Dom Solanke couldn’t get on it, and the winger took it first time. I knew I needed to get on the end of it, and it managed to hit me on the forearm so it was a nice save.

“It’s probably better than what it was given the timing in the game. We were 1-0 down and if it went to 2-0 it would have been difficult. With what happened with Reiss [Nelson] and the comeback heightens the save even more, so it was a pivotal moment in the game.”

The save came at a pivotal moment in the game, with Arsenal trailing 1-0 at the time, and Ramsdale’s efforts proved instrumental in their eventual comeback victory. The award completes a hat-trick of accolades for Arsenal, with Bukayo Saka winning the EA SPORTS Player of the Month and Mikel Arteta named Barclays Manager of the Month.
