Jorginho joined the Gunners from Chelsea during the Winter transfer summer and was replaced by the Argentine Enzo Fernandez.
Arsenal midfielder Jorginho took a subtle dig at his replacement at Chelsea, Enzo Fernandez, after the Gunners beat the Blues 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.
Jorginho joined Arsenal on deadline day in January after Chelsea committed to paying a British record transfer fee of just under £107 million for Fernandez, who has taken over Jorginho’s position.
The 31-year-old Italian may have struggled for game time had he remained at Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal’s victory over Chelsea was a significant one, with the Gunners returning to the top of the table with three valuable points. Following the match, Jorginho took to social media to post a series of images from the game on his Instagram page, accompanied by a caption that read, “We keep pushing until the very end. Thank you for the amazing support.”
However, it was the third image that caught the attention of eagle-eyed followers. In the picture, Jorginho had won the ball and beaten Fernandez, who was left on the ground.
Jorginho will be hoping to help the Gunners lift the Premier League title but will need to be at their best and hope for a slip-up from Manchester City.
